Privacy Policy
This policy explains what ChonkBlocker (the "Game") collects, why, and your choices. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Game's accounts, online play, safety, and support.
What we do not do
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. No advertising identifier is collected.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and account identifiers from the sign-in method you choose, such as Sign in with Apple, email sign-in, or supported platform identity providers.
- Display name — the name you choose, shown to other players in lobbies, friend lists, recent-player lists, match history, reports, and replay metadata.
- Device identifier — a random per-install identifier we generate to link your sessions and devices to your account. It is not an advertising identifier.
- Gameplay and social data — online match history, results, scores, friend requests, friend lists, recent players, blocks, game invites, room codes, and replay metadata needed to run online multiplayer and replay features.
- Leaderboard run data — if you allow leaderboard score uploads, completed scores, run statistics, and gameplay proof or input data used to verify the run and prevent cheating. Eligible runs saved on your device may be uploaded later while this permission is enabled.
- Replay content — deterministic online replay files may include match events, session identifiers, account identifiers, display names, room details, and gameplay state needed to replay the match.
- Safety and moderation data — player reports, report reasons, optional report details, block records, and automated display-name filter results.
- Purchase-entitlement data — App Store purchase proof and entitlement records used to confirm you own the Game. Direct web purchases are currently unavailable.
- Technical and security data — server logs, rate-limit records, IP-derived security information, and diagnostics needed to operate, protect, and debug the online service. Local diagnostic files stay on your device unless you choose to send them to support.
- App health and exception diagnostics — the Game sends a first-party count when it launches, exits normally, or detects that its previous session ended abnormally, together with only a coarse platform family and distribution channel. When application code catches or terminates because of an exception, the Game may also send the exception class, app version, and one application-owned source frame. Reports contain no exception message, full stack trace, log, file path, account, session, install, advertising, or device identifier; no hardware model or OS version; and are not linked to you.
How we use it
To create and secure your account, match you with other players, deliver friend, invite, recent-player, block, report, replay, and match-history features, enforce our Community Standards, confirm your purchase, prevent abuse, operate the service, and provide support. We do not use this information for advertising.
Leaderboard score uploads
Before ChonkBlocker uploads a score to our servers, the Game asks for your permission. If you choose Allow & Post Score, ChonkBlocker may upload your completed score, run statistics, and gameplay proof or input data for verification and anti-cheat. Your verified score and public username may then appear on global leaderboards. Eligible runs saved on that device may also upload later while permission remains enabled.
You can choose Not Now and continue playing without uploading a score. You can enable or disable future leaderboard score uploads at any time in the Game's Settings. Disabling uploads stops new uploads from starting, but it does not remove scores already published. You can request deletion of associated account data using the choices described below.
What is required
Single-player and local play require no account and collect no personal information online. The
unlinked app-health and exception diagnostics described above are sent in all modes so we can measure
launch reliability, find software failures, and minimize crashes. Account data is collected only if
you choose to use online multiplayer and related features. Uploading a leaderboard score is optional
and requires the permission described above. You can disable app-health diagnostics by launching with
CHONK_PRODUCT_TELEMETRY=0.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us operate the Game, such as hosting, platform sign-in, platform purchase validation, transactional email, and support providers, and where required by law. Your display name, friend/invite status, match results, and replay-related details may be visible to other players by design. If you allow leaderboard uploads, your verified score and public username may be visible to other players on global leaderboards.
Retention & your choices
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the Game (Account → Delete account), or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes or anonymizes your profile, sessions, linked identities, social graph, blocks, name-change history, match links, and replay metadata and artifacts associated with your account. We may keep limited anonymized moderation, security, legal, or anti-fraud records when necessary. Sanitized, unlinked app-health and exception metrics are retained for up to 30 days. Leaderboard upload permission is stored on your device. Turning it off prevents future uploads from starting but does not by itself delete data already received by our servers.
Children
The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
